King of Cambodia Pays State Visit to India

PHNOM PENH: King Norodom Sihamoni is making an official visit to India at the request of President Droupadi Murmu to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The three day visit will last from May 29-31.

The visit is an important event in maintaining and developing long-term relations between Cambodia and India which are built on a shared cultural, religious and historical heritage.

During the visit, King Sihamoni will hold a royal audience with India’s President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation. President Murmu will later host a Royal Dinner for the King.

The King will also grant separate royal audiences to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Minister of External Affairs, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

King Sihamoni also plans to pay his respects to Mahatma Gandhi, laying a wreath at his memorial.
